     Donald John Trump was born in 1946 in Queens New York to Frederick and Mary Macleod Trump. His father was a real estate developer and Donald Trump soon followed in his footsteps. He went through the New York Military Academy the Wharton School of Finance and the University of Pennsylvania all while earning a deferment from the draft for the Vietnam War.
After College Trump began working in the real estate business with his father. However, he soon acquired the company when his father retired and Trump moved his sites toward Manhattan. He soon became a real estate Mogul by making connections with some very influential people and expanding his business time and again, through loans mostly.  In 2004 Trump became a reality TV star and around 2013 he began to set his sites once again even higher on to the political platform.      Donald Trump's image is another monster all on its own. He was already well known when he entered into politics and his image was already hurting. People associated him with reality TV and that is the last person people wanted in charge of the country. He quickly made his campaign stance about returning America to its former glory. This drew a large crowd from your small town, blue collar, more conservative areas of the country. Trumps largest support group in fact were people  who felt voiceless when it comes to politics. Trumps image at this point was split he was either loved or hated there was very little in between. His slogan Make America Great again resonated pride and arrogance in some and disgust in others.

          Trump was slammed time and time again during his campaign for saying stupid things. The real problem was he didn't know when to shut up and just take his licks where he had too. The nations reactions to his inappropriate and vulgar comments like calling women disgusting animals and mocking a disabled reporter were as they should have been, people were angry and disgusted by someone who would say and do those things. However, the afore mentioned Trump support  population would soon be able to put his short comings in the rear view mirror when he was made the Republican parties nominee for the president of the United States.

     With Trumps nomination the country began to divide. His supporters became more and more invested in his campaign and his enemies turned to Hillary Clinton his adversary thinking she would be there saving grace. On November 8th 2016 people went to the polls and the results, well they had

     For the most part Donald Trump is not qualified to be the president of the United States in a political sense. However, more and more it seems like to be a politician the only qualification you have to have is having been a pathological liar for most of your life. People were disgusted with the politicians in Washington, which is what fueled Trump's campaign. People saw him as the business man that would return America to the world power it once was. The only problem with this is America still is a world power and the people who elected Trump made a big big gamble. All I have to say to that is nothing great has ever been obtained without taking some sort of chance. Make

    Tanner,

    I can already tell just by this first blog post that you are very passionate when it comes to your support for Donald Trump. You said that it felt like the only qualification to be president was to be a pathological lier. Do you think the two most popular political candidates( Clinton AND Trump) represented a past as a pathological lier? Secondly, I think most people agree that Trump has done a number on his self image. I personally believe that Trump had so many secretive supporters throughout the election simply because of the negative image he projected to voters.

      Megan,
      I wouldn't say I am extremely passionate I can Understand how it may have come off that way but in reality I have my doubts like everyone else. However, as a member of the military I am hopeful for what he will do as president for the people who live my life style. Also yes he probably did have many secretive supporters due to his image. I myself wasn't secretive but was open that I did not agree with some of the things that he said but in the end still supported him for president!

Trumps Agenda Donald Trumps website had very little when it came to the matter of his stances on political issues. However I was able to find almost all conservative politicians and there views on issue on http://www.ontheissues.org/default.htm . Then I took a look at which issues Trump deemed most important throughout his campaign and it was clear that budget and economy, immigration, and National Security were his top three.             When it came to the economy Trumps position was quite clear he planned to cut taxes from 35 percent down to 15 percent on corporations to allow them to have a larger budget for hiring American employees. My pop culture item within the political race for the presidency I chose the Saturday Night live sketch of the first presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Now both candidates in this sketch were portrayed by mostly their faults in order to create humor and who doesn’t love a good laugh right? However, Trumps image in which he worked so hard to build and then worked hard to rebuild after a few mistakes along the way was completely wrecked by the SNL crew.             First off Trump took great pride in looking the part physically all the way through the campaign. He was well groomed and wore the black suite with the red power tie to all of his events portraying a real sense of leadership and dominance. Alec Baldwin did portray Trump with the same suite yet the wig he used to make the hair was an awful resemblance. Even though Trumps hair is somewhat of an enigma it is not that bad.             The first two news outlets I took a look at were the Washington Times and Fox news. Both had completely different stories brewing over the Trump administration but both gave great insights into their reporting style.              If we look at Fox news first their main story was over Trumps promise to have a tax plan put in place by August. Trumps administration has already said that this is nearly impossible and they don’t believe it will be done according to the scheduled time line. Fox was actually not critical of the president’s team in anyway. They were very supportive talking about how this is a normal occurrence when it comes to a party switch in the white house. It took Reagan two years to put in a tax plan and they seem to understand that the August promise was simply a normal campaign promise that Trump used to further his cause.        ...
